Midnite news

by Ohama

Before MIDI, personal computers or samplers...there were synthesizers. This is the real thing, early 80s style, recorded on 8-track analog tape and played by hand. This fully remastered cult-classic album from 1982 is pure authentic analog synthesizer.

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Midnite News was originally released on a limited edition hand-copied cassette, probably less than 500 copies. All the tracks were recorded on an Otari half inch analog 8-track recorder on a potato farm in Western Canada. Most of the album was done with the Yamaha CS-40M synthesizer and Korg KR-55 drum machine although there are some other instruments such as a Roland String machine, some sort of acoustic guitar, Yamaha CP 70 piano.

Many of ohama's early albums blend environmental sound effects and analog synthesizers. This was back before samplers were common, and most of the effects were done with analog tape.
