One Track Mind

by Ordinary Lies

A classic rock, riff style song with a pseudo-Bo Diddly beat and some whimsical lyrics. Sort of Led Zeppelin meets the Kinks meets Kenny Loggins.

Album Notes
This song was originally written for a project in 1986 and a pro quality recording was done. The song written by Randy Murray with input from his 1986 bandmate, Dave Reimer was played live a few times and usually prompted a positive reaction.
It lay dormant for 24 years until the birth of the Ordinary Lies project.
Some of the lyrics were updated as when the song was written communications were very much different.
i.e., "She shops on-line at Frederick's for her underwear, I don't care"
Although the feel is dictated by the guitar parts the back-beat in the modern version is much different than the 1986 recording.
There was always a sense that this song deserved a wider audience which is one of the reasons for including it in the Ordinary Lies project and releasing it January 15th, 2012.
