ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Outlander's self titled release will be a shocker to music fans everywhere.

The CD combines influences of progressive and hard rock like Rush, Soundgarden, Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath, and more into Outlander's unique style.

The songs are catchy and memorable but at the same time not cliche and predictable.

It has complexity lyrically and musically while still maintaining a powerful and visceral, inspiring sound.

Instrumentally each member shows a mastering of their trade.

Drums range from simple powerful grooves to complicated fills and odd time rhythms.

Guitar sounds vary over a large soundscape, from clean to distorted, ethereal to in-your-face.

Bass guitar is never sleepy, always tactful and busy.

Keys and various pads enhance the mood in each song, while the vocals top it all off varying from breathy softness in some songs to screaming power in others.

The CD took over 2 years to write and record, and through the blood and sweat of the band is now a reality.

The Band members are three brothers from Wisconsin.

Band member Chris Walczak is the singer and plays bass guitar and keys. He is a composition graduate who teaches music and writes comission pieces for orchestra in Wisconsin.

Scott Walczak plays acoustic and electric guitars, and is an engineering graduate from the Milwaukee School of Engineering.

Marty Walczak plays all drums and percussion, and is also an engineering graduate from the Milwaukee School of Engineering.

The members have been playing together for years, and this CD represents the culmination of all those years of growth.

It is a must have for music lovers of all kinds, and is as interesting and entertaining on the 10th listen through as it was on the first.

Something new can always be heard...

A real MUST HAVE CD to save you from the "dregs" of the airwaves today!!!
After years of playing with Bill Heck (www.billheck.com) I repeatedly heard of Outlander. Bill has always though very highly of these guys and now I do as well. This CD gives you a certain hope that most bands of today fail to deliver. There is actual musical talent in this band. From the drum chops reminiscent of Neil Peart to the strong influences of Rush and Tool. In fact, if you took Jethro Tull, Rush, Tool, a dash of Queensryce and rolled then all into one, you'd get something very similar to Outlander. If you appreciate well written material that breaks free of the radio waves mentallity and takes you where most music produced today does not, this is a CD for you. A great mix of technical orchestrations wonderfully executed by everyone in the band. GREAT CD all around. Certainly money well spent!

Amazed and astonished! Loved everything!
This band absolutely amazed me. In a day when there are so many new bands, it is rare to find one that jumps out and grabs my attention the way Outlander did. The music has incredible appeal, but the lyrics really got to me. So much of whay they write about is hitting home with what I'm going through personally right now. Another way the universe is telling me, "I know you've got a lot to deal with right now, but you're not alone." I don't think I would say the band writes "insipartional" music, but even in the darkest of the lyrics, there is that small spark of what we all need...hope.

Excellent
If you are tired of the typical no-talent rock that seems to be everywhere these days, you will cherish this CD. It has a lot to offer, and will keep you intrigued from start to finish.

Three guys is enough for exelent music!
Beautiful, strong and complicated music. I can't wish for more (wel...Outlander 3 perhaps, and the comming Snakes & Arrows Rush DVD?) I got the CD's (Outlander 1&2) only for a week now, and played them both for at least 20 times.
Gentlemen, keep up the good work!

Great Music
This is the only independent CD that I would recommend to anyone with taste. If you know the difference between a shit-bubble and real music you will love this CD. If you like Madonna, The Dixie Chicks, and/or any Rap Group... please make the world a better place and jump off a cliff.

It's good stuff
I like Rush and not Dream Theater, so you can rest assured that liking Dream Theater is not a prerequisite for liking Outlander. There's only two songs on the album I don't care for. The rest are quite good. It does bear a good resemblance to Rush, but there's also a hint of Alice in Chains. Their style is not simplistic, and the songs don't drone on like many current bands, so you don't get bored with a 5-minute song.

Excellent cd
i bought this cd a while back and it just keeps getting
slapped back into my cd player. the music actually gets better the more you play it! and when you switch to some other music you will really appreciate OUTLANDER more than ever. why aren't these guys on MTV?......oh yeah, i forgot....they actually play instruments and they write real songs. MTV SUCKS!!

Absolutely GREAT!
With all of the junk music out there that seems to sound like the same old thing, Outlander is truly a breath of fresh air and amazingly original, even though it has some familiar styles that might very well be derived from some other well known bands. Outlander takes these styles and incorporates them into a sound all their own. You've got to hear it to believe it. It's one of those CD's that keeps you wanting to hear it again and again. I'm surprised that this is their first effort. To me, it sounds like an album put out by a veteran band that's been around for years. This is a "Must Have" CD for anyone that appreciates bands like Rush.

What are you waiting for? Buy it TODAY!!!!
