Brood

by Outlander

Unique, powerful, hypnotic heavy rock. A remarkable hybrid of grunge, progressive rock, metal, and soul. Infectious songs by a virtuosic band. Truly modern and original, yet shades of Soundgarden, Tool, NIN, and Rush.

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Outlander are a power trio with an unmistakable musical identity: deep, heavy, primal grooves twisted into rhythmic complexity; irresistible tunes; virtuosic performance. The heavy rock sounds are nearly orchestral and the compositions are ingenious. The band has remained independent from the misguided monotony of the major labels, and the reward is the music. This is the forefront of heavy metal, and profoundly original, yet echoes resound - Soundgarden, Nirvana, Tool, NIN, Rush, Black Sabbath. The lines of these songs contain fascinating considerations: spiritual, existential, political.

Scott Walczak plays guitars. Marty Walczak plays drums. Chris Walczak plays bass, makes electronic sounds, and sings.

Sample the words from just a few of the innumerable praises of earlier Outlander releases taken from Amazon, iTunes, and CD Baby:

----------

This band is on the cusp of superstardom...buy this cd now before they sign with the big labels. It will be, IS, a classic!
-
I don't know how to give this band the credit they deserve, but I will say this: if my life were a movie and I had to put a soundtrack to it, this band would have the opening theme. They're that good. Enough can't be said about the overall appeal of this album. Seriously. Go get the CD, you won't regret it.
-
These bros are hitting a new level of appeal which crosses boundaries...and generations. New sounds with a classic familiarity. True artists with technically precise and strong style. You'll be glad you gave them a listen and you'll sing a new mental tune after hearing them. GUARANTEED!
-
If you like Rush, if you like Tool, if you like hard rock, classic rock, metal, or anything in between- If you like music that is complex, true musicianship, EXCELLENT performance, excellent sound quality. This band is fantastic, the music is ageless.
I don't say this lightly; this self-titled effort is one of the best rock albums of the decade! As Neil Peart might say ... what a diamond in the waste! I'll let the other reviewers tell you who these guys sound like. Take the best of those artists, stir them up with some syncopation, and you get Outlander! Best $12 I've spent on an album in a **long** time.

Hurry up, guys, and give us a new album or two!
-
This band absolutely amazed me. In a day when there are so many new bands, it is rare to find one that jumps out and grabs my attention the way Outlander did. The music has incredible appeal, but the lyrics really got to me.
-
This is the only independent CD that I would recommend to anyone with taste. If you know the difference between a shit-bubble and real music you will love this CD.
-
I bought this CD a while back and it just keeps getting slapped back into my player. The music actually gets better the more you play it! And when you switch to some other music you will really appreciate OUTLANDER more than ever.
-
The older I get the more apparent it is that there are so many cookie cutter rock bands out there. Who cares if they know how to play their own instruments? Gone are the days when artist had original ideas about music and lyrics.
So I thought, this CD is one of the best CD's released within the past 5 years. The songs contain visual lyrics, catchy tempo changes, very different, and tight.
Buy the CD and Spread the word about this new band.
-
This disc resonates the tonal frequencies of life itself! vibrations which gravitate from true magnetic north at the source! you will be mesmerized by its microcosmic wizdom, eternal truth and shamanesque psychic power. Listen, focus with intent and be set free! Chris. Scott .Marty/Outlander are time travelers, Medicine men of the highest order! bringing the sweet elixer, the nectar of the gods to a planet in transformation. Brilliant is this rising Star.
-
With their 2nd album, Outlander handily takes the crown for "Best Unsigned Band On The Planet." There is nothing about this band or this album that I don't like.
-
Outlander is nothing short of brilliant. I would challenge anyone to find a band out there today that is talented as these three guys. How these guys are unsigned is beyond my mind. This is ROCK at its FINEST!!!

Still more excellent songs
Outlander continues producing great progressive rock by their own lights, on their own schedule, with no fanfare or promotion. There's no live performance, no fanfare, no discernible promotion. But the music is great! In a better world, they'd be all over rock radio and touring the globe.
