ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Pangaea began at the end of 2009 when Australian singer songwriter and TV presenter, Psylo (aka Tim Harding), moved to the North West of the UK. There he met Alex Chialton, Bernie Trevelyan and John Boughey, who had been playing together for 13 years as a group known as the Vandanons. Pangaea began rehearsing in December 2009 and by February 2010 they had begun work on their debut EP. Throughout 2011 they performed in many venues across the North West, slowly beginning to make a mark in Manchester's legendary music scene. They also made it through to the Regional final of the Pan European band competition "The Surface Festival." In late 2011 the decision was made to record a new song, "Footsteps" which was quickly picked up for use on a compilation album called "Tastemasters 3". The song was released under the name "Believe" but is now track 3 of their debut Album under it's original name. Pangaea have a solid mix of Alternative and Pop Rock styles with hooky melodies and driving riffs. Evoking classic rock tones and thick bassy grunge sounds that hark back to bands in the early part of the Seattle movement such as Soundgarden and Nirvana. Picking up riffs with a solid groove sound often associated with bands like Rage Against The Machine, Pangaea have developed a powerful and unique sound, not be missed.
