In the year 2000 Pasadena wasn\'t much more than a fun way for a few kids to express themselves through their music. Over the past 8 years the band has developed into so much more while maintaining the freedom of expression and mutual love of music that originally brought the band together. The 6 members, Vocalist and Guitarist Joe Harkum, Drummer Ben Cowdery, Guitarist Will Finley, Bassist Aaron Hooper, Emcee Matthew Richey and Trumpeter Geoff Burroughs, all met as teenagers in Pasadena, Maryland. All 6 have great hometown pride and their love of Maryland is evident in their songs as well as their graciousness toward their fans. Since beginning in 2000, Pasadena has graduated from performing at small clubs and bars in Baltimore to playing for large crowds across the country. Over the past eight years they\'ve performed at a number of large scale events such as Starscape Festival (2006, 2007, 2008); Haydaze Festival (2006, 2007); Soweboh Arts Festival (2003-2008); Atlantis Music Conference (2007); ESPN\'S Winter X-Games (2006); Dewey Beach Music Festival (2007); Seaside Music Festival (2008); Eastport-A-Rockin\' (2007, 2008); The Pow Wow (2006, 2008); St. Mary\'s College World Carnival (2007); The Projekt Festival (2008); Tunerwar (2007); and they\'ve performed with national acts such as Badfish; Perry Farrel; The Disco Biscuits; Slick Rick; SOJA; Bassnectar; Martin, Medeski and Wood; Future Rock; RJD2; and Dub Trio. Be on the lookout for great things from Pasadena in the future and don\'t be surprised to hear their unique sound blasting from a car stereo near you.

I found these guys courtesy of and listened to the above samples. They seemed to have a good blend of reggae rock/hip hop going so I bought the album. Overall, the tunes are all solid on their own. HOWEVER- tracks St Augustine and Welcome Home are the standouts on the latter portion of the record.

They sound like The Expendables beats with smooth, hip-hopish flowing vocals. There is a good mix of faster tracks mixed with more mellow, laid back songs.

the hottest thing in baltimore since bonita and quianine every show i been to they rock as good as the cd and if you like these guys check out the grilled linclons support baltimore music. sick and tired is the sound track to east b4t1m0re.
