ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Cellist Samuel Bisson and Pianist Nadia Boucher have been collaborating as a duo since they met, while pursuing undergraduate degrees at the University of Ottawa. They have recently completed masters of music degrees at the University of Toronto and Cleveland Institute of Music, respectively.

Primarily based in Toronto, the Passport Duo performs regularly throughout Canada and the US in various concerts and festivals. They have performed in festivals including the Scotia Festival of Music and the Toronto Summer Music Festival and have been guests of the Toronto Arts and Letters Club as well as the Midday Music with Shigeru concert series in Barrie, ON. Aside from these performances, they often volunteer their time and talent to various organizations including hospitals, homes for the elderly and religious institutions. The Passport Duo has also been featured on the CBC/Radio Canada morning show Y'a pas deux matins pareils.

Over the years, the Passport Duo have had the opportunity of working with many leading chamber musicians and coaches, including renowned Canadian pianist Jean Desmarais and cellist of the Juno award-winning Gryphon Trio, Roman Borys. They have also worked with cellists Paul Katz and Paul Marleyn, pianists Virginia Weckstrom and Anita Pontremoli, and violinist Mark Fewer.

The Passport Duo is now presenting the second season of their concert series Souvenirs of the World in Toronto and Ottawa, where they frequently perform to sold-out audiences. The series features concerts dedicated to a specific country, with the goal of introducing audiences to a variety of composers and genres from that region.
