Phoenix, AZ based producers Sam Dorko and Andrew Hood make up the fabric of Pastries With Teeth. Contrasting the sounds of broken beats, dirty bass, and orchestral arrangement, their 13 track debut album marks the band’s ambition to bend genres and push the limits of electronic music.
PWT is a live electronic dance group drawing influence from groups such as The Glitch Mob, Gesaffelstein, and Nine Inch Nails. Featuring Dorko on live violin, keyboard, and guitar, Hood holds down the groove on drums, percussion, and samplers. Garnering support from underground dance dj’s, Pastries With Teeth has gained notoriety for their dynamic, high energy live shows.
Three tracks on the album were specifically composed for En Fin, a live performance combining modern ballet and cutting edge electronic music. The group performed alongside Phoenix Contemporary Dance Company for two sold out shows at the Herberger Theatre in October of 2012. Sean Dhalberg, founder of Phoenix Contemporary Dance Company hailed the group as, “Honest, dirty inspiration! Pastries With Teeth is the cigarette you have after making love! Genius!” Phoenix nightlife figure head William F*cking Reed raves, “PWT is a fresh breath of air for the Phoenix EDM scene.”
In addition to their major success at the Herberger Theatre, Pastries With Teeth also performed at Identity Festival alongside artists such as Calvin Harris, Eric Prydz, and Le Castle Vania.
