ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Paul Cardall established himself as a solo pianist with "The Christmas Box" CD published on the Narada Label. Since that time Paul Cardall has explored a diversity of styles including; jazz, electronica, classical, and Christian rock. But, this latest 2 disc compilation explores his beginnings. THE HYMNS COLLECTION is a 2-Disc collective set of hymn arrangements for solo piano beautifully and elegantly performed. "His keystrokes are like the first snowfall," said the Chicago Sun Times. Combining Paul's popular Hymns Vol. 1, Hymns Vol. 2, digitally re-mastered and additional new arrangements gives listeners almost 2 hours of reverent piano music for the price of one CD.“Pianist Paul Cardall incorporates interpretive elements into his delivery of well-known hymns. He utilizes the ideas of "theme" and "variation on the theme". There are moments when Paul's creativity renders the song uneasily recognized. You may think you are simply listening to a beautiful piano solo, and then suddenly it becomes recognizable again as one of the familiar hymns you sing each Sabbath. This method of adding creativity while maintaining familiar elements is refreshing.”
