“Peggy’s captivating singing and composing shines through in spirituality and in faith.” - Lois Howard, Award Winning Writer and Poet
Time and again people are moved to reassurance that God sees them and hears them through this singer\'s spiritually inspired performances. Her strong singing voice has been the instrument for many people to enter into conversations that happen silently - and loudly - within - to God.
In this first CD, she layers vocals (a favorite part of her writing and arranging style), uses percussive - rolling piano, background stringed accompaniment, and has a little extra bits of percussion thrown in here and there from the recording studio (just for fun).
She began singing at an early age in choirs and church, moving on to operettas and opera. She attended the University of Colorado at Boulder for Voice and Theatre, earning several scholarships and graduating with a Bachelor of Music degree. Inspirational singing went by the wayside - for a time. It wasn\'t until several years after graduation that she began writing again. Starting up again - she began singing, arranging, coaching, teaching, and playing in churches. Taking her students along with her, she visits those who reside in assisted living facilities. She emerges now with these songs, hoping to bring a gentle and powerful connection with the Divine and conveying the message that when you give, it brings healing.
“You are gifting us all with your art, manifesting God’s beauty, God’s gift…it reveals the Divine.” - Rev. Francis Gargani
Here are some of her notes on the songs:
In This Place: This is about a time in my life of waiting in motion so to speak. It became a description of anyone’s walk with God.
En Ti (In You): I wanted to write something in Spanish - my father was Cuban.
Amazing Grace: An arrangement of the lyrics to this beloved hymn set to my own music.
Be Thou My Vision: My favorite hymn
Creation Speaks: My take on what God might say in response to our question of His existence.
Not Forgotten: Written as a message from God to imprisoned women.
