ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
These stories originated in the 5000 year old Jataka Tales from India which were originally part of the Bagavad Gita. They gradually became songs about the Buddha, when he was king of the monkeys, lions, elephants etc. to illustrate Buddhist teachings and philosophy to children. Award winning singer and songwriter Penny Nichols has brought new life to some of the stories by writing songs about them, Mr. Chojur Radha, a noted Tibetan translator and scholar, reads some of the stories and producer and composer Tom Schmidt has added some beautiful melodies as well. Sit back and listen to these timeless stories and songs with your heart as well as your imagination. Proceeds from the sale of this CD go to further the work of the Karma Kagyu Institute, which is the educational arm of the Tibetan Buddhist Monastery; Karma Triyana Dharmachakra, located in Woodstock, NY. www.kagyu.org Penny Nichols CD's and singing lessons can be purchased on CD Baby as well as her website: www.pennynichols.com
