ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Three boys from Eugene,Or. Formed in March 2003, Nate, Kasey and Rob have been trying to figure out how to write the perfect song together.

Playing venues all across the great city of Eugene, these "very serious" young men have been creeping into the windows of the vibrant Eugene scene, displaying potent blasts of 70's era punk from their amps and drums.

"We tend to bring out the pervert that lies dormant in all of us," says Rob,guitar, "'cause, deep down, you know y'all are. Seriously, it's true. I mean it.You know it is..."

The band has been likened to NoMeansNo, The Dickies, The Ramones, The Dead Boys.

They also have their debut,a 5 song EP, "In Yer Ear" which will be available here soon.

Perverts: Porn on The Cob
Well hot dog! The opening track mugged me. There is a big BIG sound from this local three peice. The progress made from their EP - is wicked! Old school sense in the song writing merges with some dynamic new school musicianship. Thirteen impressive tracks. Sure, Rob Pervert, is a nice guy, still in the stacks of CD's I've been reviewing, Porn On The Cob, is delicious! Fans of the Dammned, Misfits, Wristrockets, The Dickies, and good times, should be proud that Eugene, still produces some good rawk and roll. All air safe CD Release Party Oct. 17th @ John Henry's w/Fireballs Of Freedom and The Courtesy Clerks.

Ed Cole

Perverts rock old school punk...think Wire, Samoans, Buzzcocks
The Perverts from Eugene are kickin' into gear with this solid release. Songs about wanting to stay home, girls gone wild and getting back to that wasted state of mind. Clean yet chunky guitars and a quick and solid rhythm section lend this CD an older-school punk sound - think Wire, Buzzcocks, Samoans. A very fun disc to listen to while you crack open that first beer on Friday night.

Great Stuff from the Pervs. Play it Loud!!!
This is a great CD! – full of heavy sounds and catchy hooks. Think of a tighter version of the Sex Pistols… the tracks on this CD often grab hold of you and refuse to let go. Standouts include: Let It Go, Tart, and of course Marsh Creek. Truly a great one – play it loud!

The Flying Scotsman

Weekend refreshment, turn it up!
Crack open a cold beer- this fits the end of the
week Friday night thing to a tee, catches the mood
perfectly: Enough attitude without being snotty,
enough energy to get you off your butt after a week at
work, good vibe going on throughout and it's got a lot of nice melodies happening too.
Think pre-clean up Aerosmith riffs blended with punkier sensibilities and you'll be in the right ball park.

Porn on the Cob inspires your id !
I was sucked in, set-up, and kicked into gear! This CD grabs you by your short and curlies and pulls you right along to whereever your perversions will take you. Very catchy riffs (Wasted Again, Marsh Creek), a kickin' rhythm section (Let it Go), and offbeat lyrics (Doctor) give the whole CD a unique sound; which is rare in this genre. Think The Velvet Underground meets Paul Revere and the Raiders. . .if you can! Multiple thumbs up to the Perverts, Freud would be proud!

Dennis J Grabowski

A blast of flavor in every bite
"I really enjoyed Porn on the Cob. Good original thoughts, nice minimalist guitar riffing, salt and butter not necessary."

Dr Feelgood

Cookin' corn. Raw porn. Just kidding about the porn.
Worth a listen! These guys have a big guitar/punk sound with an early Brit rock undercurrent (listen to the band joining in on vocals on 'Better Off Dead'). Vocals are strong, with a hint of Bono on some tracks. The lyrics swing from a hard dark edge ('Wasted Again') to tongue-in-cheek... or stuck straight out ('Doctor'). The drummer & bass form a driving rhythm section, with some propulsive machine gun sections pumping up the punk. Four thumbs up, and I've only got two!

Waylon Spoden (Sunken Grade)

Eugene doesn't produce an album this good very often.
The Perverts' second effort, Porn on the Cobb, combines all out tongue-in-cheek lyrics, punk energized songs, and melodies that try to bridge the gap between the Ramones and the Beach Boys. If she listens closely, your mom may be a bit disturbed by Porn on the Cobb. That is unless she's as perverted as the Perverts!
I highly recommend this one. Eugene doesn't produce an album this good very often, so don't wait to purchase it! I think it would make a great stocking stuffer!
