Album Notes
This project of Hymns For Guitar, Volume II came about as a result of the overwhelming success of my first volume of Hymns For Guitar. People had been asking me for years for some arrangements that they could perform in their own churches, family get-togethers, around the house or while just sitting out on the porch. What I didn’t realize is that not just guitar players wanted the music but that players and non-players alike love hymns and enjoy hearing them in new settings. Almost as soon as I completed the first set, the requests started coming in for a second set.
I am a melody-driven person. A wonderful melody captures me and won’t let go. So with that in mind, I collected these hymns from different sources. Hymnals, other musicians, life experiences and friends from around the world provided me with these great melodies. There are certainly many more great hymns out there and I hope to be able to record more of them in the future. But for now enjoy this collection and most of all have fun as you learn them.
