Strength
”… strength is a quality hard to define, for it comes in a number of ways
And it takes different shapes in the people we love
Sometimes it's an ember, sometimes it's a blaze..."
Hello Peter, That was recalled from memory. I just wanted to let you know how music makes an impact...I heard you sing that song at the Ice House in Pasadena, along with your humorous songs also. (You also sang Junk Food Junkie which was popular then)...I bought your first album...
The humor was very funny, but this particular song... the story in the song deeply touched me.
I can't remember the verse exactly, but the father left, and the mother sits quietly, watering the African violets, waiting for the door bell to chime....
What a gift, to be able to write a story and find a melody
that can find the crevices in one's heart and seep in to make a lasting memory.
The Ice House is gone now (at least the folk music part), and I no longer live in Pasadena,
and my parents are gone now too, and I find I have been nostalgic somewhat for those days and that time...
Nevertheless, I just wanted to encourage you, and let you know what a wonderful gift
you have of creating good music... Best Wishes
