ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Peter Tork is an original member of the world-famous 1960s pop group, The Monkees. Peter has also put together a number of bands over the years, including The New Monks and The Peter Tork Project, as well as many assorted line-ups of Shoe Suede Blues. He plays a variety of instruments, including the 5-string banjo, piano/keyboard, drums, guitar, and bass, occasionally picking up French horn and sometimes trumpet. On Step by Step, Peter plays guitar, keyboards, and percussion, and sings lead vocals for the band. Peter also adds some background vocal tracks along with his unruly crew.

Arnold Jacks is quite simply one of the most phenomenal bass players around.

Joe Boyle is an innovative guitarist whose face-melting solos are always a tasty treat

Sturgis Cunningham brings drums and percussion to a whole new level of fun, always right on time.

In my opinion, it is a fantastic album of some great music!
Overall the album is a great album with some pleasant surprises.
Highlights include a rework of "Early Morning Blues and Greens" from the Monkees album called "Headquarters" and a very rocking bluesy version of the originally bluegrass song "Crash Course In the Blues." Plus the cover of "Hoochie Coochie Man" is just great with smart and scorching bluesy musical arrangement.
Please take a listen with an open mind. I know I am glad I did. This album is very enjoyable.
