Album Notes
2009 Recording! "Twilight Walks Over" is a large variety of pieces using drums only. Tracks cover a wide range of rhythmic concepts - everything from melodic drumming, rhythmic illusions, polyrhythms, cross rhythms and new styles of rhythm quite possibly never heard before. There are surprises in store and a variety of moods throughout!!

New rhythmic ideas are performed and the pieces often sound overdubbed and/or manipulated, but are not. No overdubs were used. Pete is one of the pioneers of multi-pedal drumming. On some of the tracks he orchestrates with his feet as well as his hands, sounding like several drummers playing simultaneously.

Twilight Walks Over
Pete Zeldman has once again showed the world what is possible on a drum set. Twilight Walks Over is Petes second record of solo drum set pieces. After shocking the drumming comunity with 1991's Other Not Elsewhere(his first solo effort)
Pete is back with TWO(Twilight Walks Over) , and boy was it worth the wait! While I understand this may not be easy listining; it is however required listining if you are a modern instrumentalist. Pete concisely delivers us the future of rhythm and explains each track in the liner notes so we can try and follow his genius rhythmical landscapes he creates for us. Track after track from begining to end TWO takes you on a journey through different feels and what can only be described as rhythmical landscapes within which he can manipulate the listener or ground them with an obvious ostinato, or just blind them with blazing chops. There are so many multi-pedal drummers out there now, and while they are pushing certain envelopes they are like infants compared to Pete. He was the first, and still the best. This recording warrents thousands of hours of scrutiny and should have a class devoted to its analysis in every music school on earth. Pete should be given a spot on the tonight show and be featured and celebrated as a ground breaking pioneer in music. TWO is the most highly evolved representation of what is possible on a drum set. Buy it and try and follow along....
