Album Notes
Phillip Brandon, a native of Los Angeles, CA, grew up in a very supportive music loving family where he was able to garner many of his influences. Born to a mother who is a singer and a father who is an overall music lover, it seemed destined for Phillip to be on stage. Phillip’s sound, which is a fusion of jazz, funk, and rock, was birthed as a result of him listening to many different artists and genres such as: Ella Fitzgerald, Paul Robeson, Patti Labelle, Ray Charles, Journey, The Whispers, and the list goes on. His silky baritone voice has been likened to great crooners such as Luther Vandross and Nat King Cole with an edginess that would make even the most contemporary music lover a fan. Though this marks Phillip’s debut solo project, he is definitely not a novice to the business. Since graduating from the historic Morehouse College with a degree in marketing, he has had the opportunity to broaden his horizons and work on many different projects including: The Trans Siberian Orchestra, and The Color Purple Broadway national tour. He’s so excited about entering this new chapter of life and enjoying the beautiful journey that is to come. “Someday is not a day of the week.”

Sandy Shore Review
Often described as “the intersection between Luther Vandross and Bruno Mars,” silky soul singer/songwriter Phillip Brandon – whose mother was a Raylette singer with Ray Charles – performed in a national tour of “The Color Purple” and shared the stage with the likes of Carlos Santana, Herbie Hancock and Patti LaBelle before his powerful emergence as a solo recording artist on his debut self-titled EP. His infectious single “Sail On” finds the sweet spot between sensual romance and funky Smooth Jazz, while jams like “On My Mind” showcase his powerful chops as a sultry rocker.
