"Those East Coast Girls" contains 26 songs by some of the finest female artists and girl groups to come out of the East Coast in the early '60's. They include Cindy Scott, Maureen Gray, Ann D'Andrea, The Pixies Three, The Sherrys, The Secrets, The Sweet Three, The Mellow Moods and The Bobbi Pins.
This CD is presented by songwriter/record producer, John Madara, through That Philly Sound, which is dedicated to the music that came out of Philadelphia during the 50's and 60's. Many of the songs on the CD were written and produced by John Madara and partner, Dave White. They also wrote and produced such timeless classics as AT THE HOP (Danny and The Juniors), THE FLY (Chubby Checker), 1-2-3 (Len Barry, who co-wrote the song with Madara & White) and YOU DON'T OWN ME (Leslie Gore). These and countless other hit records by Madara & White helped to make up "The Sound of Philadelphia."
This historical CD contains valuable information, when available, on the musicians who played on each song as well as the date the song was recorded and the studio where it was recorded. One of the musicians was unknown, Leon Huff, who was discovered by John Madara before he teamed up with Kenny Gamble.
All songs have been digitally restored and digitally mastered.
