The Pine Forge Academy Choir consists of over 90 members representing talented, experienced and dedicated young men and women ranging from ages 13 through 18, who not only excel musically, but academically.
Choir members come from all over the United States and other countries of the world. Each member brings to this organization his or her own unique personality and background. Blended together, they project an outstanding musical excellence that elevates and inspires listeners. The choir is noted for its full, rich and powerful harmonious quality. They proclaim God's goodness through spirituals, gospels, anthems and a classical repertoire.
Travel is an integral part of this talented group. During the school year, the choir is engaged for concerts, church services, extensive tours and other community events several times a month. These engagements place the choir in many parts of the continental United States, as well as nearby islands. During the past three years, the choir has sung for Philadelphia's Year of the Child, with the State Senate's Black Caucus in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, the inauguration of Philadelphia's Mayor John F. Street, the world broadcast of Net 2004 from Baltimore, Maryland, the Living the Dream program with Cicely Tyson at the Liberty Bell, annual guest artists for the Indian Valley Concert Series and with Bill Cosby and Bobby McFerrin, to name a few. They have received numerous honors and awards including the key to the city of Hamden, Connecticut, and honorary proclamations from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the city of Milwaukee.
The choir and its conductor are determined, by God's grace, to meet all challenges and opportunities with the stamp of His name on every performance. The Pine Forge Academy Choir seeks to glorify God and uplift mankind through its unique and melodious endowment of music. Indeed, this dynamic entity, which richly ennobles the vibrant passages of sound, may well be compared to that of a rare musical gem.
