ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
They say drummers don't typically make good CDs. I've never believed that. This CD is just a couple songs that I put together with the the help of Bill Heck a few years ago that I am releasing in the interim while I am working on my new solo CD.

I began playing drums independently in 6th grade. In the mid-90’s I met guitarist Bill Heck www.billheck.com (who’s CD is also available on CDBABY). In fact, I played drums on two of the tracks Bill used on his CD. Bill and I had many great times writing original tunes. We released a self-produced CD called, “Always the Quiet Ones” that was mainly distributed only to close friends and those in the know.

After Bill and I stopped playing together due to scheduling conflicts, I picked up guitar because I realized that there was more bouncing around in my head than just drum beats. I just needed a way to voice those musical thoughts; which I am currently doing on my new CD.

“Victory-1”, the intro to this “teaser CD” was my first complete tune that I did entirely by myself as a drummer, guitarist, keyboard player and bass player. The song “Noise Pollution” was finessed by me and Bill Heck and it turned out to be a full-fledged metal instrumental attack that contains phenomenal guitar shred-work by Bill himself. The song “Control” was written by me, and Bill instrumentally and conceptually. I wrote the lyrics, and we brought in Brian Wells to cover the vocals.

To all my fellow rockers, and rocker-ettes out there, I hope you enjoy this CD as it gives you a taste of things to come from me in the future.

WOW....this is GOOD stuff!!!
The opening intro; VICTORY-1 is really a cool and heavy, sonic piece with lots of power, that starts with an incoming mortar-attack sound of power chords, has great depth and an awesome finish with tribal drums. NOISE POLLUTION is truly a work of instrumental art. All the musicians blend together very well in this well orchestrated piece with great guitar and drum work throughout with an awesome second movement in the misddle of the song that you don't pick up on the sample. The song CONTROL is really awesome and I could easily see this song being a radio-airplay tune. It is more 90's or current sounding than it's 80's classification to me. Great lyrics too. I can truly relate to what the songwriter is saying. Not many songs can offer that anymore these days! This is a GREAT CD for $5!!! Get it now before it is out of print.

Great Music
Listening to the samples on PJ Hunkins page, I was tempted to listen to the selections on Bill Heck's page as well. I have to say these two are incredible songwriters and musicians. On Bill's page the samples with the real drummer (sans drum machine) are filled incredible feeling. On both pages, the music is fantastic. PJ's is a bit harder rock music than on the Bill Heck site and has a bit different feel, but it is all good. These guys should release a joint effort as a complete compilation. It would be incredible.

Great songs
Ya know, the 80's were a great time with great music. So many great bands and musicians came from that era, but this CD has a newer and better flavor to it too than just hair band. My favorite song is "control". It is just one of those great power-ballad break-up songs that everyone on God's earth can relate to. I think that is the real song on this CD, although the rest of the CD is great! I say "buy it"! YOU GUYS ROCK!
