David S. Polansky's music is educational and genuinely funny.
David holds degrees in Psychology and Music Education from the University of Massachusetts and Berklee College respectively. He has taught in colleges, public schools and has appeared as a guest lecturer at education conferences throughout the country.
As a performing artist, David has worked with such legends as Arthur Fiedler, Ray Bolger, Sandler and Young, Phyllis Diller, and The Platters. He has composed and arranged music for the Tommy Dorsey Band, Amherst Ballet Theatre Company, Pearl Bailey, and for a Carnegie Hall performance by internationally acclaimed concert saxophonist Kenneth Radnofsky.
His ANIMAL ALPHABET SONGS, a twenty six song collection, won him an Artists' Foundation Fellowship and are used by educational organizations around the world. (Some of David's marine animal songs are played at the Parque Oceanique Cousteau in Paris. His tapes have been used in education courses at the American Museum of Natural History in New York.) He has been an ASCAP special award recipient for fifteen consecutive years.
His I LIKE DESSERT, a collection of songs which deal with elementary school situations, (dragging kids out of bed, individual differences, junk food, bullying, conflict resolution) has been made into a musical entitled "Another Day at School". The script is available at his website.
David was recently elected to Marquis Who's Who in the Northeast.
