Porkpie's "Global Cocktail Chilled" music is seductive, ’60’s jet set, a collection of martini loungescapes cut from a similar cloth to that of Kruder Dorfmeister,Thievery Corporation, and Gotan Project with an Esquivel twist.
Featured tracks include“L’amour et Magnifique”, Porkpie's Parisian flavored lounge collaboration with producer/ DJ, Soulfinga and the tango electro sizzler, “Tangazo” featuring amazing Grammy nominated folk/latin vocalist recording artist Perla Batalla. The 12 track disc also includes Porkpie's"Tango Mujer" from New Line Cinema's film , "Take The Lead" starring Antonio Banderas.
Porkpie's core members are electro lounge duo Elyse Schiller and Jim Watson. The two have numerous credits composing and producing music for Film and Television. Schiller and Watson and their supporting collective of artist contributors combine elements of dub, acid jazz, lounge, and bossa nova stylings to bring you the hypnotic, provocative soundtracks of "Global Cocktail Chilled".
You're invited to step inside their soulful, cinematic dream lounge of swirling textures, alluring melodies, and global beats. From the Felliniʼesque bounce of “ Cucina Italiana ” to the post 2 am club relax environment of “ Rio “- "Global Cocktail Chilled" is an intoxicating collection of cocktail party chill out grooves.
The duo started their collaborative songwriting relationship in 1994 composing songs that combined Elyse's sultry vocals and rap style with Jim's live drums and experimental beats. They began exploring a broad range of sonic environments blending genres of trip, hip-hop, latin, pop, and big beat discovering an exciting symmetry in they're combined approach to production.
An early mix of Porkpie's bossa track "Hobergs Resort" was released on Water Music Records compilation, 'Breakfast Club- London'- 2006 and Porkpie's very chill track "Cafe Embarcadero" ( Breeze Mix ) was released on Pistol/Digital Records compilation - 'Cool Chill' - 2008.
