Compositions for Afrika

by Proambient Sect

This music comes from emotion. Music should be a combination of sounds that create a whole, a piece which makes you feel. These songs are tribal based, hence the title, and are meant to be an exploration of that theme.

Album Notes
I've always wanted to explore tribal rhythms, finding deep roots to many of today's styles tangled withing the genre. Using modern equipment and recording techniques, such as processed drums, samples and digital mastering, I've tried to create a modern version of that sound. I am a composer living in a Chicago suburb, focusing on music as a whole instead of dividing it up into different sections. Although most of my concept albums focus on a given genre, the flavors and treatment of the compositions is intended to be an expansion of the limitations to said genre.
My influences range from Punk Rock, Classic Rock, Jazz, Rap, Country, Blues, Metal, Classical, and pretty much everything in between. Music is music. Sounds. I believe there are great compositions in each field, why miss out on them if you lump everything together as "I don't listen to that type of music"
