Album Notes
About the artiste:

Pandita Tripti Mukherjee is an Indian classical vocalist and an exponent of the Mewati Gharana. Apart from being known as an exceptional vocalist and performing artiste, she is known for her highly significant contribution to the community through her efforts in establishing the Pandit Jasraj Institute of Music for Research, Artistry and Appreciation - the Mewati Gurukul (PJIM) in the USA. PJIM is a premier music institute, started in the name of her Guru, living legend Sangeet Martand Pandit Jasraj. It has branches in New York, New Jersey and Pittsburgh. This institute bears testimony to Triptiji’s monumental commitment, for almost two decades, towards spreading India's rich culture and heritage in their purest forms, with stellar success. Pta. Triptiji's major awards include the Amir Khan Memorial Award, the Pandi Jasraj Gaurav Puraskar, the 'Pandita' award from the University of Karnataka, Lalit Kala Sangeet Ratna award, Chhandayan Jyotsna award and the Acharya Shiromani award. Pta. Tripti Mukherjee is the only Indian musician who has had the unparalleled distinction of performing at the Rashtrapati Bhawan in India as well as the White House in USA. In 2007, she was invited to perform at the White House, making her the first Indian classical musician to ever perform at the White House. In 2012 Pta. Tripti Mukherjee performed in Antarctica with her Guruji, Pt. Jasraj ji, making them the first ever Indian classical musicians to perform in the Antarctic continent.
