The Pubes formed in 2001 as a bare bones punk rock quartet seeking to rock house parties, basement shows and the occasional venue with a set of short, simplistic, and intense blasts of original punk rock inspired by bands like Ramones, Circle Jerks, Angry Samoans, Misfits, and the Queers. In 2003 the band released an 18 song album called "Wow, Baby! Let's Go Wheelin'!" capturing their punk roots and the early conception of the band in its prime.
Half a decade after forming the band has grown into a bright, whirring machine of tuneful brilliance, imparting the intensity of the original Pubes sound in a much more developed sonic playground. In 2007 the band is presenting their followup album, "Peat Sounds;" a collection of songs that are delightfully quirky, catchy, and ferocious blending elements of punk with twisted comic themes and characters, anthemic choruses, squirrely guitars and a tight, danceable rhythmic backbone.
The Pubes put on a loud, highly energetic live show that is more fun than a monkeys vs. humans pie fight in a zero gravity space chamber to the Benny Hill Show theme song.
