Rachel was born a couple of decades back and has spent a good portion of those years playing music. From early memories of riding in her mother's car listening to tapes of the Talking Heads and the Clash to sitting around at her father's gigs as a little girl, everything seems to have been based around music since the beginning. Her influences range from My Bloody Valentine to Beck, from early Leonard Cohen to the Breeders, from Joy Division to Elliott Smith.
Having always tried to stay away from the term "singer-songwriter", she started her first band during her freshman year of high school, and went on to play in the band Myna during college. Once composing and arranging songs began to take up all of her time, she decided to apply to music school and was accepted into the competitive Studio Composition program at Purchase College. She was lucky enough to study with both wonderful professors and peers, and feels she has been positively influenced by many of her fellow Purchase musicians. She has appeared on recordings with musicians such as Toby Goodshank, Arms and Legs, Michael Greenberg, Kyle Gilbride, Apse, and more. After graduating from the conservatory with a Bachelor of Music, her plans to record her first full-length record began to materialize. Her live shows are performed with drummer Christina Picciano and bassist Andrew Futral of The Age of Rockets. Rachel lives and plays music in and around New York City.
This EP includes guest musicians Kyle Gilbride, Ian Ainley, Gabel D'Amico, Sean Fogle and Adam Christgau.
