Album Notes
The Rachel Therrien Quintet was formed by Rachel Therrien in 2009 after 1 year study in Havana, Cuba. It's a group of great young Jazz musicians that perform Rachel's original compositions. Rachel Therrien is a young trumpet player and accomplished composer of the Montreal Jazz scene. After having played with several combinations of musicians, she has found the perfect ensemble for new album "On Track" released on september 8th, 2011. Due to the talent of her musicians, she is able to bring her compositions to a high level of interpretation for your listening pleasure. Charles Trudel on piano, Alain Bourgeois on drums, Simon Pagé on bass, and Sebastian Fortin on saxophone

Rachel Therrien incorporates various influences into her compositions. From the Jazz standards of Freddie Hubbard to Breckers groove, through different styles from Miles with a big influence of the traditional Cuban culture, she has composed a unique style of her own. The Rachel Therrien Quintet is, without any doubt, a must to follow for all lovers of original Jazz music.
