ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
A fresh approach to music, loving and living, Radio La Chusma draws influence from the sounds of the border which they grew up listening to. A mix of traditional Mexican Cumbia, Reggae, Rock, and Afro-Cuban Worldbeats - Radio La Chusma creates a positive vibration that can only be felt in the depths of your soul. Born out of El Paso, Tx..Radio La Chusma embraces their culturally diverse-deeply rooted music and cultivates it into a musical style that numbs the body and reaches into your inner spirit with their explosive sounds.

This album represents life on the U.S./Mexican border. In the unique city of El Paso, everyday life is a constant mix of Mexican traditions and values, African art and music, and American pop culture. A call to movement, a celebration of beauty, and a prayer to the Creator, “91.5MexM” is a definite positive vibration. With vocals in English, Spanish, and Yoruba, this border-town sound crosses borders and barriers.
“91.5MexM” is Radio La Chusma’s second release following “Sound of the People”. The music has grown drastically, since frontman, Ernesto Tinajero, returned to his hometown El Paso, Texas.
“Its like the before and after shot, “Sound of the People” was the idea, and “91.5 MexM” is
the masterpiece.” says Tinajero,
The Chusma sound really solidified when old friends Charles Villanueva(bass), and Scott Maristein(drums) joined with Tinajero. Along with many talented artists performing on this album, “91.5 MexM” was mixed and mastered by Grammy Award winner, Justin Leeah.
From cruizin’ with the homies to the end of the world, this album will touch everyone from the youths to the elders. One Love.
