G-D exists in many different forms and is found in many different places amongst us. Each of us has our own unique experience. If we find peace within ourselves, we can make peace throughout the world. Listen to the sounds…
Weaving ancient Hebrew text together with the positive healing vibrations of music, Rahel performs beautiful and compelling songs, chants and melodies to create a calming atmosphere in which one can find rest, relaxation, peace, and an opportunity for "hitbodedut"; meditation, reflection, contemplation, Divine connection and profound inner healing.
Rahel is available for TIKKUN concerts, healing and meditation services, and workshops. These gatherings and services are open and beneficial to people of all ages, colors and faiths.
“TIKKUN”, Rahel's landmark musical suite and three-disc CD recording, reveals a beautiful and compelling collection songs, chants and meditations based on, and inspired by, the ten psalms for healing known as the "Tikkun HaKlali" (The General Remedy). Rebbe Nachman of Breslov, z’l (1772-1810) taught there are ten psalms that, when recited as a whole, will bring about a complete spiritual healing. He called these ten the “Tikkun HaKlali” (The Complete Remedy). Sages have acknowledged that the original Hebrew text of the Psalms contains hidden wisdom and can lead to a profound inner healing. The Ten Psalms are: 16, 32, 41, 42, 59, 77, 90, 105, 137, and 150.
“It's nice to see Jewish music being made by women who are trying to be spiritual in their own ways.” (Jerusalem Post)
“Rahel brings a new twist to traditional Jewish philosophy and spiritual trends. Inspired lyrics in both Hebrew and English reach deeply into the Psalms and Mosaic wisdom for both poetry and enlightenment." (Spirit of Change)
"Through you and your Beautiful Soul, Rabbi Nachman's mission and work is being carried out to heal people and ultimately, I would say, contribute to healing the world! The healing ability that your music embodies is immense." (Sheri of North Carolina)
"A much needed work by a true music healing artist. The subtleties in each melody are well matched to the words of Tehillim (Psalms). I have not encountered anything like it before. Very inspiring." (Daryll, CDBaby customer)
“Rahel’s music was new to me and I had to consciously set aside my old thinking and expectations to really listen. Now, I can't stop listening to it and thinking about it. Rahel has a wonderfully clear voice; the music is uncomplicated - as it should be. The fact that it is the Scriptures is the ‘icing on the cake’.” (Peggy Woods of Tulsa, Oklahoma)
"Thank you for sharing your gifts with my sister. She was blessed to have you come into her life. You had such an enormous impact on her in helping her find how Judaism fit into her life. You filled a void in her life that no-one else could, not just as a teacher, but as a compassionate bearer of peace, comfort, faith, spirit and friendship. After your visits she was always happier and genuinely uplifted. She loved when you sang and she repeatedly played your CD. You were a significant help to her peace of mind. People like you are rare." (Sister of a good soul who passed after a long illness)
"Fascinating for music lovers of all cultures. I've put Tikkun on my iPod and I have to say when I'm wound up that it's my favorite music to relax to!" (Jim McLure: Betsy's Folly Studios, NH)
"I admire your ability to express and share your spirituality in music." (Steve Blunt: Musician and Storyteller)
ABOUT REBBE NACHMAN OF BRESLOV Z'L
& THE TIKKUN HAKLALI - THE COMPLETE REMEDY
Rabbi and author, Avraham Greenbaum states, "The essential art of the musician is to build melodies from pleasing positive vibrations that will dispel any vibrations of negativity". The Psalms/Tehillim (songs and meditations), express an emotional outpouring of the heart from the depths of the soul. Kabbalistic sages have taught that the original Hebrew text of the Psalms contains profound hidden wisdom and includes a complete musical system referred to as the “Ten Types of Songs” (or ten types of pulses). Rebbe Nachman of Breslov (1772-1810) taught that there are ten Psalms that contain all the “Ten Types of Songs”. He called these ten the “Tikkun HaKlali” (The Complete Remedy).
The Ten Psalms are: 16, 32, 41, 42, 59, 77, 90, 105, 137 and 150.
When one abuses his/her G-d given powers s/he becomes spiritually flawed which, in turn can cause physical illness. At times, one may find that traditional methods and remedies may not help. "This," explains Rabbi Greenbaum, "is because they do not go to the essence of the problem. The Hebrew word, 'tikkun', means 'remedy'. Rebbe Nachman's 'Tikkun HaKlali' attacks the flaw at its very roots, drawing on the most powerful creative force in the universe: song."
The Sages taught that the Psalms have the power to bring out the hidden good that exists in the varied moments of our lives, providing inspiration and spiritual healing, and promoting health. Psalms to say at times of illness or crisis are: 6, 13, 20, 23, 30, 38, 39, 41, 88, 91, 92, 121.
Rabbi Yehoshua ben Levi said, "Through ten expressions of praise, the book of Psalms was composed. They are: Nitzuach, Nigun, Maskil, Mizmor, Shir, Ashrei, Tehilah, Tefillah, Hoda'ah and Hallel." (Pesachim 117a, Zohar III, 101a) These ten types of song correspond to the ten sefirot as alluded to in the Zohar. Therefore, they have the power to nullilfy the strength of the klipah and blemish of a negative experience. Every negative experience has its own remedy but the Tikkun HaKlali is the Complete Remedy. It should be said as a whole, uninterrupted and in sequence, by those seeking a remedy for any problem they might be experiencing.
When the great Temple stood in Jerusalem, the Levites would sing/recite certain Psalms to the accompaniment of musical instruments in the Temple service. According to the Talmud (Rosh Hashanah 31a) the daily Psalms were intended to recall the incidents of the six days of creation: Sunday - Psalm 24; Monday - Psalm 48; Tuesday - Psalm 82; Wednesday - Psalm 94; 95:1-3; Thursday - Psalm 81; Friday - Psalm 93; Shabbat - Psalm 92

Rahel's strong faith, musical interest, and experience in early childhood education, and musical and theater arts found her at the center of the performing artists’ community. As a founding member of Israel's leading all-woman band, “Tofa'ah”, and co-founder of the not-for-profit organization, “Tof Miriam; United Women Artists of Israel”, Rahel gave rise to the musical phenomenon of "Jewish Music by and for Women", and to a new generation of women artists in Israel. Having completed a B.Sc in the Arts from Empire State College at the State University of New York (SUNY), Rahel furthered her studies in Eurhythmics and Music Education for Young Children. Working closely with Ms. Barbara Cass-Begg's, music education pioneer and student of Dalcroze, Orff, Kodaly and Suzuki, and founder of the "Listen Like Learn" and "Your Baby Needs Music" (LLL/YBNM) programs, she founded the Israel branch of the LISTEN LIKE LEARN Association. As a certified instructor, Rahel established music classes for babies and very young children, and trained adults to teach music privately and in day-care, pre-school and kindergarten facilities in Israel and the USA. Working closely with Ms. Anne Barlin, pioneer in movement and dance education for young children, Rahel was able to enrich her music classes with the addition of movement and dance.
In the early 1990's Rahel turned her musical attentions towards alternative and complementary health therapies and the healing arts. She studied Educational Kinesiology (Brain Gym); Reiki; Vocal Energy (Healing with the Voice) with Israeli Natural Healer, Astar Shamir, creator and founder of the "Voice-of-Light System"; Jewish Healing; and Music for Healing and Transition at the New York based "Music for Healing and Transition Program".
