Album Notes
Ralphy Santi was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico. When he was 9 years old, his parents moved to New York where he grew up. Ralphy began his professional music career at the tender age of 16 when he began performing with Primitivo Santos, Ray Roig, and the Latin Dimension. In 1974, he ventured on his own and recorded his first album “Mas Salsa Que Pescao.” Beginning in 1977, under the T.R. Record label, he recorded a series of albums which included the smash hit “Ansia” that was followed up with “Salsa on Ice.” Then with Combo Records “Son Caliente” and “Ritmo y Sabor.” Ralphy also produced “ En Su Punto” under his own label Libel Records. In 1988 he recorded with TTH Records “Llegares.” Today, Ralphy Santi represents over 30 years of performances and productions that have been enjoyed by fans worldwide. In this production, he again finds himself collaborating with Augusto Onna, who has been by his side as musical director, trumpet player and vocalist since the beginning. Adding to this great ensemble of musicians is Carlo “El Grande” who has performed with such legendary musicians as the late great Ray Barretto, Louie Ramirez and Madera Fina, among others. As an added treat, Ralphy’s son Angel Luis makes his singing debut with a sensational unique voice singing the classic tune “I Wish You Love.”
