This is the first fully Classical CD project by Randy Mayfield.
Randy Mayfield is an accomplished singer and songwriter who has traveled the nation and to more than 40 countries of the world. He has appeared on numerous television, radio and live performances with artists such as Jerry Lewis, Natalie Cole, Johnny Cash, President Jimmy Carter and others. He has performed the National anthem for several major sporting events including Monday Night Football as well as singing for the St. Louis Cardinals, the St. Louis Rams and Blues, the Chicago Cubs, Colorado Rockies, San Diego Padres, Los Angeles Dodgers, K.C. Royals, Milwaukee Brewers and the Montreal Expos. He recently sang for the 2006 NLCS playoffs in St. Louis for the World Champion St. Louis Cardinals!
Randy has been a featured performer and host for the Annual \"Christmas in St. Louis\" concert and the \"McDonald\'s Gospelfest\" at the Fox theatre in St. Louis. He has opened concerts for Michael English, Jaci Velasquez, Stephen Curtis Chapman, the Imperials and more.
He has been nominated for four Emmy awards and has received numerous national music awards for his singing and songwriting including the Christian Artists \"Song of the Year\" award at Estes Park. In addition to his seven solo albums, Randy produced and wrote many of the songs for the best selling, \"Christmas in St. Louis\", & \"A Season of Love,\" \"A Cardinal Christmas,\" for the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team, and \"A Caring Christmas,\" which featured players and coaches from the St.Louis Cardinals, Rams and Blues teams. These projects raised more than $100,000 for local charities.
Randy wrote the national theme song for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes entitled, \"GO THE DISTANCE\" which is featured on his CD of the same name. He recently released his newest CD entitled, \"THE COLLECTION\" which features 10 new songs ranging from Classical to Pop as well as 9 favorites from the past. He also released the CD\'s, \"A HEART FOR THE NATIONS\" which features songs of Worship and Missions, and \"WHEN ANSWERS AREN\'T ENOUGH,\" which features songs of Peace and Comfort.
Randy has produced and hosted a number of radio & TV programs including, \"The Heart of the Sport,\" featuring many professional athletes. He also served as host for the program, \"Sunday Morning,\" a music/interview program that featured Contemporary Christian music artists such as Sandi Patti, Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith,\"Stryper\" and more. Randy also serves as a chapel leader for the St. Louis Cardinals and St. Louis Rams sports teams.
Randy has a B.S. and M.A. in Communications and he and his wife Sharon reside in West St. Louis County Missouri. They have two children in college, a daughter, Amanda and son, Justin. Randy is the Missions & Outreach pastor at the Central Presbyterian Church in St. Louis and he leads a number of short-term mission trips around the world each year. He serves on the board of the \"Micah Project\" in Honduras, (www.micahcentral.com) the Bible Faith College and Ministries in Kenya, Africa, and is on the advisory board of the St. Louis Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
