We developed this highly focused course to help you build an essential construction vocabulary utilizing our L.A.M.P. method (Listen to the Accent, Memorize, and Practice). Everyone who works in the construction industry relies on tradesmen or project team members who do not speak English as a first language. Communication is critical so you should not attempt to issue directions in a language that you are not comfortable with. While we do not suggest you have to know Spanish to do your job effectively – this is the field you’ve chosen and the reality is that a majority of workers in this field speak Spanish. Since you are here you must at least want to be able to understand what others on the jobsite are discussing.
We have cut out the general basics to make this course shorter, more efficient, and less costly. This course is not language 101, we will not teach you how to master tricky verb conjugations or ask “Dónde está la biblioteca?” There are plenty of other courses designed to help you memorize conversational phrases for your next vacation to Guadalajara and these can be used in conjunction with ours. This course was designed to help you learn only the vocabulary germane to the construction industry as quickly and efficiently as possible. And, since this course is organized by CSI division you will easily be able to learn and practice the appropriate sections as they occur on the job.
