Truly great old hymns, well known and beautiful !
During my lifetime , I have listened to a tremendous
and varied amount of music . At different times , I
thought it would have been better if they would have
put the songs in a different order on the recording .
Maybe this is an idiosyncrasy of mine , I don’ t know .
Never-the-less , in my recordings , I try to put the
songs in a particular order , for various reasons .
In “ Eternal Father “ I try to tell a story in music .
In the above, when I referred to putting the songs in a different order, ( the young people, may not know this ) years ago, there were 78's, then 45's,
then 33&1/3 LP's ; what ever order the songs were in, that's the way they remained ; I'm going to include 8 track tapes ( what a disaster ) as you would have had to have two machines and a hassle trying to re - record in a different order and you'd probably wind up disgusted with the results .
What fantastic improvements they have made through the years - with the great recording equipment and the great sound - to bad they didn't have this equipment to record the great big bands and singers of the past !

Who am I , that's a difficult question . When it comes to this type of thing, I'm someone who loves beautiful music, from all types of genre’s, songs, musicians but not all and not everything or everyone . Late in life , I got the whim to start playing the keyboard , which I did , without any formal training and although I can't compete with the masters , the greats , near greats and very good, I'll continue to do so until the end . Every once in awhile I'll mess with the guitar and harmonica ( not very good ) hate to practice ( and practice makes perfect or at least better ), pay attention kids . And all that has led to this , most of us don't advance because we're afraid of failing . We may never reach our goals -- but how do we know, if we don't try . It's fourth down - inch's from the goal line - go for it ( whatever it is ). Experience is the best teacher but often the most bitter . There was much music, artistic, athleticism talent in our family that went by the wayside . If you don't do - you regret. My mother, always, used to say -- " YOU CAN'T PUT AN OLD HEAD ON YOUNG SHOULDERS " , how true ! RDM
