ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
An album that was "just plain fun" to record. Several of the songs draw from the roots of Southern Appalachia--Rosalee Carson's "Poor Girl's Story"; the Carter Family's "Jealous Hearted Blues"; Bill Monroe's plaintive "Monroe's Farewell to Long Hollow" and the traditional Pretty Saro. There are also four original songs including "Boom in Appalachia". And to top it all off, Janis Joplin's "Piece of My Heart".
