Album Notes
The Regra 4 was formed 14 years ago, in Curitiba, South of Brazil, having produced 3 CDs of their own authorship (Max Single Regra 4 - 2001, Samba Groove, a Volta do Homem pro Mato - 2005, Quando a Máquina Parar - 2008), as well as taken part in a few international compilations such as "Copa Reggae - 2006" and "Brazilounge 4" (both released in Europe by Radio Fazuma, and distributed by SONY&BMG). Regra 4 will be releasing their 4th CD named “Filhos do Rio Belém” (2011).

On July 2011, Regra 4 held its first European tour, performing in one of the most important music festivals in Europe, performed at the 45th Montreux Jazz Festival and also at the 18th Montreux Meets Brienz, Switzerland.

Regra 4’s sound fits into the currently so called new MPB. Their sonority stems from fusions of various Brazilian rhythms (samba, côco, ijexa, frevo, maculelê, maracatu, jongo, ilu...), Rock and electroacoustic music (processing of sounds captured by from acoustic instruments, electronic interventions, samplers, synthesiser. The newest concert offers a repertory of their 4 own records, alongside with a number of interpretations of the Brazilian popular music.

Regra 4’s sound there are many mixes and fusions of organic and electronic sounds. Traditional meets contemporary.



• Formed in 1997, Regra 4 plays Bossa Nova in a contemporary fashion.
• Has performed on the stages of “Era Só O Que Faltava” bar since 2001, where it has opened several concerts for Lobão, Demônios da Garoa, Mundo Livre S/a, Otto and others.
• In May 2001, participated with a track in the CD “Conexão, Informação e Integração”; a phonographic project intended for local bands. It was also invited by TV Globo to perform at Curitiba’s Popular Music Festival in June 2001.
• Closed 2001 releasing the CD “Max Single” with five songs of their own authorship.
• In 2003 the band joined the project Geração Pedreira and Gazeta do Povo: “Os Quatro Elementos da Música Paranaense” with the song “Pôrra de Vida” in the “Terra” compilation.
• In 2005 released the CD “Samba Groove” with 13 tracks.
• In 2006 performed at Pedreira Paulo Leminsky, opening for Tony Garrido, Sandra de Sá, Martinho da Vila, and Ney Matogrosso.
• In 2007 performed for more than 10,000 people at Antonina’s Winter Festival.
• In 2008 released its 3rd CD: “Quando a Máquina Parar” with 15 tracks.
• On April 12th, 2008 performed at Festival Lupa Luna, in Curitiba, held for more than 18,000 people, playing at the same night with Zeca Baleiro, O Rappa, Capital Inicial, Skank, Lulu Santos, Nação Zumbi, Mundo Livre S/A, Dazaranha, Relespública, and others.
• In February 2009 opened for Mano Chao at Curitiba Master Hall (02/17/2009).
• In June 2009 opened for Jorge Benjor.
• In June 2009 participated in the 1st Curitiba’s Winter Festival of Samba Rock.
• In July 2009 performed on the main stage of the 19th Antonina’s Winter Festival for more than 5,000 people.

Banda Regra 4

A banda Regra 4 surgiu em Curitiba, sul do Brasil, há 14 anos. A sonoridade característica da banda encaixa-se na chamada (new) MPB, com sonoridade originada das fusões entre ritmos brasileiros, rock e música contemporânea. Recentemente, dia 09 de julho de 2011, apresentou- se em um dos maiores festival de música da Europa, na Suiça: "45th Montreux Jazz Festival"

Novo Disco
Em março de 2012, será lançado pela internet o quarto CD, intitulado “Filhos do Rio Belém” (2012). O disco tem direção artística de Eugênio Fim, frontman da banda, direção musical de Emerson Antoniacomi e conta com as participações do paulista André Abujanra, do trombonista carioca Raul de Souza, do guitarrista Mário Conde e do compositor e intérprete Carlos Careqa, que também participou da gravação do DVD da Regra 4 no Teatro Paiol, em projeto apoiado pela Fundação Cultural de Curitiba.

Ao vivo
O show da Regra 4 oferece um repertório de seus quatro discos autorais e também releituras da música popular brasileira.

Formação
A Regra 4 é formada por Eugênio Fim (voz, violão), Emerson Antoniacomi (contrabaixo), Endrigo Bettega (bateria) e Randson Moreira “Dão” (percussão).

Discografia e coletâneas
A banda está presente em coletâneas internacionais lançadas na Europa pela Radio Fazuma e distribuídas pela SONY&BMG:“Brazilounge 4” (2006) e “Copa Reggae” (2006). Em 2011, o EP coletânea “Mix Regra 4 2011” foi divulgado no 45th Montreux Jazz Festival com apresentação ao vivo da banda.
