ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
The Reid Brothers is the brainchild of Lonnie Reid and serves as a vehicle of collaborative creativity among three brothers. One brother (Lonnie Reid) was been a working musicians for years performing in many venues on gigs ranging from pop, blues, r&b, jazz and rock. Terry Reid has been writing, performing and recording original music for a while and Anthony Reid is an accomplished poet and novice vocalist. What the Reid Brothers have captured is a synergy that you feel when you listen whether it is the angst of Anthony Reid's spoken words on 'The Journey' or the raw, brutal intensity of Lonnie and Terry's instrumental interlude 'Oh Boy!' or the beauty and sophistication of the song 'You Never Asked' featuring the haunting trumpet work of guest artist Ben Mostella to the smooth jazz sound of 'Twinkle Twinkle.

A Must Reid
When you slip LOST IN SPACE by The reid Bothers in your CD player your in for a space trip that takes you to every corner of music. From the erie HELLO , the opening cut, to the uptempo jazzy 2nd cut JEEPERS CREEPERS you begin to notice your going places and not circumscribed in one genre. A standout is YOU NEVER ASKED featuring a Donald Byrdish solo by Ben Mostella. TWINKLE TWINKLE is my personal favorite, a sort of new age ballad with lush orchestration done to perfection. There is a poetry selection with spoken word by Anthony Reid. There is the extremely humerous STANK that will definitely have you smiling. I could go on and on, theres 15 cuts on this CD. The CD has memorable compositions, great playing, unique arangements and enough variation that any jazz lover will find lots to love. THE REID BOTHERS is a must Reid, just get it and enjoy. Im happy.

A great listen
There's a lot going on, here. The collection is eclectic without seeming dissonant. I'm rather partial to "Jeepers Creepers" and "You Never Asked".

A worthwile listening experience
A wide range of styles on this CD, all performed very well. Great soundscape on the mastering and recording; well balanced. I think Twinkle Twinkle is may favorite on this cd. Stank is just as funny as it is groovin. Kudos.
