Album Notes
Rey Burns is a writer and performer. His interaction with the Turtle Island String Quartet, Darol Anger, John Blake Jr. other jazz string groups and performers have had an impact on his writing for jazz strings. In forming his group, Rey Burns’ Crossroad, he has brought together an exceptional mix of musicians. Their combined skills, talents, and backgrounds, have resulted in a performance that is exhilarating and refreshing. The combination of string quintet, piano, drums, and conga, provide a mix that drives without being overbearing. The Latin tunes will have you dancing. The swing tunes will get you foot taping. The ballades will soothe as they provide images that sail and dance.

Smoothly done variety of tunes. A true pleasure to listen to.

Lisa Leonardi

This is refreshing in so many ways. The combination of instruments, the amount of talent and the innovative composing make it different than anything else I've heard.
