Weight of the World

by Rf7

Classic early 1980's Southern California Punk rock. Unorthodox "growling" vocal laid on top of heavy fast and slow tempo rhythms. This sound set the benchmark for scores of punk bands and several generations to follow. Catch the original one more time.

Album Notes
Three quick quotes on RF7 and Weight of the World:
RF7 is an old school Southern California hardcore/punk band. As opposed to all the famous So-Cal punk bands (Circle Jerks, Black Flag, etc.) their style is a lot "heavier" and leaning more towards hardcore. (Flipside).

"We listen to Weight of the World constantly, especially after Christian Death to Spurn all the evil spirits from our surroundings." (Geza X).

Question to Jello Biafra by DJ Rodney Bingenheimer on his Rodney on the Roq show…”What LA punk band do you like best. Jello, my favorite is the rock-a-punk sounds of RF7 on Weight of the World!

"Weight of the World," is the RF7 debut LP that captured the attention of the punk generation by the throat. From Thurston Moore of Sonic Youth to Byron Coley & Ron Clark of Forced Exposure. The musical and literary peers of the time were in lock step that this was something special. Out of print since 1983 this is the first and only chance to have this full length LP available. Classic songs, still in the RF7 set list today include, Scientific Race/Perfect World, World of Hate, Jesus Loves You and the epic classic title songs with it's piercing opening guitar lead, Weight of the World. True punk beginnings that stand the test of time.
