Seek and Cull

by Rhino Chaser

Scott Ballard presents Rhino Chaser. This project combines Metal, Surf and Trip-Hop elements to carve out an unique and driving style. Good walking music. What I would call "Organ Core". Check it out!

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
One of my favorite projects. Written and recorded at the same time I was working on my songwriting demo "From My Heart and Other Places". Some songs feature Micheal Gardiner (Fallen Man) on guitar and Tyler Ragle on bass. Mike also helped record some of the tracks. I think there are a combination of elements here. I had never played drums on a record before. I hadn't really fulfilled the screaming aspect of my persona yet and was feeling a bit inspired. I bought a Hammond Aurora Classic from a local thrift store for cheap! Hence the name "Organ Core".

The concept for this record is surfing more than anything else. Mostly my lack of it. Some of the second verses are left out on purpose. I had hoped to get some of these into a film or video and wanted there to be an instrumental aspect to the songs. There are 2 straight instrumental (drums, bass and organ) tracks that are very mellow and inspired by what I would call 50's surf music or "Italian Movie Jazz". Enjoy!
