Album Notes
Red Heart the Ticker is not from any planet other than Earth. For the Wicked, their first full length album, was recorded in a neighbor's timber frame barn in Southern Vermont (note cricket sounds on a song or two), and in a apartments in NYC and Boston. Their haunting and eclectic sound has been compared to the Innocence Mission, the Cowboy Junkies, Wilco, and Emmylou Harris. The album was produced by the band and put out on the home-spun Poorly Bird Records.

to write a review

Indispensable.

I love the variety provided by two singers taking turns on lead. Really nice. There are not many CD's my wife and I can both listen to, but this is one of them.

Beautiful Songs
I've been listening to this over and over. The words and music are beautiful and meaningful. My favorites are "Racing Stripe Winter" and "Depression."

a lush, relaxing album
i'd heard a few songs on kexp, namely 'racing stripe' and was really impressed. both singers have very soothing voices and the instrumentation is lush and calming.

love it
I saw these guys in NYC at Mo Pitkin's, and they were amazing. Haunting, gorgeous vocals and adorable stage presence. The cd is wonderful.

I saw these guys in Fairfield, CT and enjoyed their show and figured I would pick up a copy. A variety of sounds and meanings throughout their songs. A wonderful album!

Subtle yet powerful masterpiece.
For The Wicked proves what I've known for a long time: Tyler Gibbons is one of the most talented songwriters around. He proves this over and over again with songs such as "Go-Cart Thrills", "Racing Stripe Winter" and this CD's stand-out track, "Leather Boots". Robin's and Tyler's vocal harmonies are pitch-perfect, making For The Wicked a subtle yet powerful masterpiece.
