"Sam, the Accordion Man" and I have some things in common. We were both professionally successful, performing on the accordion during our younger years, but that's where our similarities end.
The popularity of the accordion was fading fast in the 1950's, so in 1952 at the age of 16, I went into survival mode, and on my own started learning the piano. Luckily for me, acoustic and electric piano are still a very important part of today's musical world.
Poor old Sam refused to change with the times and, as a result, died unknown and in poverty.
