Robert Hurst presents another ensemble group Unrehurst. In this series, Volume 2, he captures a dynamic moment with versatile band mates Robert Glasper, Chris Dave, and Robert Hurst at Smoke Jazz & Supper Club Lounge in New York. The project features two original Hurst compositions and a Glasper original, along with two outstanding interpretations of Cole Porter’s- I Love You, and Thelonious’- Monk’s Dream. Uniquely, these musicians are adept and comfortable playing a varying of genres of music, and this trio of Hurst, Dave, and Glasper are unleashed in this reunion recording. Unrehurst, Vol. 2 reinforces the necessity and great rewards of capturing unscripted and unabashedly unrehearsed music.
