"Love Shakin The Fences" is Robin Gorn's rhythmic anthem about Love that can break through, like a rainbow, and embrace the darkness and the light.
On this track, Robin is accompanied by Drica Souza on traditional Alfaias (drums), from Pernambuco, Brazil along with playing a plastic bag, clogging, and doing vocal percussion. The tune also includes Producer Jay Atwill twanging on the Jew's Harp and playing Bass and Guitar. Robin and Jay sing the back vocals and Drica sings the extro, Tá Caindo Fulô, a Brazillian folk song from Minas Gerais.
Robin will be releasing a new song every 6 weeks leading up to the CD Launch on September 28 2013.
"Her songs go deep beneath the surface to embrace the joyous and painful inconsistencies that transform our lives. What is exquisite about this album is what is not there. This innovative production creates spaces for us to experience the music."
Robin Gorn, is releasing her first commercial EP as a preview for her upcoming, full length album. Wild, ripe and true with a heaping spoonful of saudade ( a Brazilian word for happy, sad, passionate longing); these five songs are five worlds in a cinematic universe that moves sinuously through roots and world music from RnB to Brazilian rhythms to Blue Grass. A formidable songwriter, her first commercial release brings an old school musical vibe that transports you to a time and place.
"Going deeper to find the light."
