ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
"We love I Live In The City and sing along everyday, Shabbat or not."
Parent
Athens, Ohio

The enormous success of Clap Your Hands led to demands for a sequel. Thus, I Live in the City was born. This popular recording includes more songs in Hebrew, English and Yiddish for year-round Shabbat and playtime singing. Recorded live within a classroom setting, the melodies are easy to sing. The lyrics teach children about themselves and their community. Robyn first performed the title song as part of a school project when she was eight years old.

One of today’s leading interpreters of World Jewish Music, Robyn Helzner brings a life-long love and appreciation of the power of folk music to resonate across all cultural boundaries. Robyn has appeared in history making concerts in Beijing, Hong Kong, Tokyo, and throughout North America. The moving story of her underground concerts in the former Soviet Union, which led to sold-out performances in Moscow and St. Petersburg, was told on the Public Television special, Chanukah–A Celebration of Freedom. Robyn brings natural warmth, as well as a seasoned and soulful approach to every performance.
