ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
\"The Rockford Mules sound is a dichotomy; like nothing you’ve
ever heard before, but at the same time instantly recognizable.\"
-Bob Longmore, howwastheshow.com

“A hard-driving collection of Skynyrd-meets-metal.”
-Michael Swanger, Cityview

“They have kind of a “Dukes of Hazard” meets “Helmet” thing going on.”
- some guy at a show

The Rockford Mules fired up their tubes together for the first time in a Minneapolis basement during the winter of 2005. Friends from former groups that span the spectrum from folk/acoustic to hardcore, this combination of souls resulted in a sound they have come to call “heavy mountain.”

Stampeding lap steel guitar, a bone carving rhythm section, and soulful lyrics, The Rockford Mules sound simultaneously familiar and foreign. The songs draw on the earthy elements of southern rock and Americana, yet are infused with a sonic sneer that occasionally wanders dangerously close to hardcore.

The Rockford Mules released their debut full length, \"From Devil\'s Spit to Angel Tears,\" in the Summer of 2008. Expect to hear more from these fellas in the near future.

This album kicks. The Mules deliver real old school rock. Not quite Southern Rock, not quite roots rock. The Mules have carved out their own niche, something that is severely lacking in a world full of artists who simply imitate other artists. Their influences can be heard, but the sound is one all their own... I fully recommend this album for fans of great, original rock music.
