Album Notes
Rock To Art’ exploded onto the music scene in 2009 at the suggestion of
Lee Dickens. Whilst being impressed with the 3 Jamaican artistes as
individuals, Lee had the foresight to suggest that they combine forces
and explore their creative talents collectively. This unique mix
comprises Tuff -voiced deejay Reptile Rock (Born Douglas Watt,) blended
with smooth-toned vocalist Tony Perry and ‘River Nile’ vocalist
Sherlock Art (Born Dausette Sherlock McConnell.) The resulting sound
and style has captivated their audience at live shows in the UK at places such as
Doncaster, Leeds and Birmingham to name a few. Sherlock said, ‘The
directions we took and the results went way beyond our expectations; we
are very excited about the debut album.’
‘Rock To Art’ are proud of their Rastafarian roots and lifestyle,
tuning into their natural energy and positive vibes. Musically they use
these attributes to take a dynamic approach, producing a powerful
contemporary sound across the following genres: Reggae, Hip Hop, R&B,
Drum & Bass, Dancehall, Soul and Rap. They have worked with producers
Carl Lamb from Urban Recording and Paul Sly, Higher stakes records.
‘Rock To Art’ are notably one of the most progressive groups at this
time and clearly going to make a huge impact!
