ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
‘The Cat’s Whiskers’ Suite (for Acoustic Steel String Guitar) is a new work by Roland Chadwick rooted in Anglo/American Folk traditions built to Classical proportions.

The 5 pieces of this suite were written over a 20-year period in Australia, the USA and England and have individually been a mainstay of Roland’s live set but now have been brought together as a major concert work.

The fifth and final piece, ‘Jiggery Pokery (Laughing Spinoza) was written in Clun, near Shrewsbury in England one Summer holiday in the naughties. The piece begins as it means to proceed, jaunty and jolly and brings The Cat’s Whiskers Suite to a happy ending.
