Every since I got my first guitar I wanted to write songs and that's what I've been doing for many years. Often being compared to James Taylor which is a great compliment, recording a full CD of JT songs was a logical process. I have nothing but respect for JT and I spent a lot of time, energy and money to make this the best presentation of his music that I possibly could. We used his live performance DVDs as a refference point and added our flavour to it always trying to remain "true" to the songs.
This cd was a lot of fun to record and it stretched me as a guitar player, singer and songwriter. I didn't write any songs on this cd but I learned some tricks about writing and I hope you'll see this on my next cd which I'm working on (but that's another project).
James Taylor wrote six of the songs and the other four were written by: Carole King and Gerald Goffin (Up on the Roof) Carole King (You've got a friend) Brian Holland;Lamont Herbert Dozier;Edward, Jr. Holland (How Sweet it is) Ottis Blackwell and Jimmy Jones (Handyman).
