ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
RON. (What's in a name?) I am a drummer (by trade)who has worked in many bands throughout the 70's, 80's, 90's, and into the New Millenium. I am fortunate in the fact that I can play almost any instrument I pick up, as is somewhat evident if you listen to the tracks on the "Who's Sane" disc. I play keyboards, bass, electric and acoustic guitar, drums/percussion and did all the vocals and all arrangements as well. After many years of being in the background (playing drums)with other bands (Earthwood; Ohm; Amelda Mikes; Jimmy Peterik; New Colony Six; etc.), I finally decided it was time to put out my own CD. My influences are many and varied - loved early Genesis with Steve Hackett and Peter Gabriel; Yes; Beastie Boys; Beck; Beatles; Who; Gentle Giant; Adrian Belew and the Bears; The original Wailers (Bunny, Bob, Peter) and their "solo" stuff as well (and the kids Andrew, Ziggy, Steve);Tom Waits; Sublime; 311, Joe Strummer (I for one will miss him dearly); Warren Zevon (him too); Steve Earle and I could go on and on. You will likely find some of these folks influence in my solo recordings. Hence the creation of the Who's Sane? record. With the world in constant turmoil, this record touches on some of the events going on at this time in our history. Bottom line, I have tried to put out a disc that is poignant, but a disc that rocks out & sounds very fresh - almost live. I wrote and arranged much of this album while tape was rolling and sacrificed "perfection" for "substance" in trying to keep everything as "vibrant & fresh sounding" as possible. After receiving feedback from some "friends of friends" who expressed their delight with the CD, I am taking the next step to make it available to everybody. I would like to think that this CD "jams out / rocks / skas /and reggaes" a bit - and after receiving that kind of positive feedback from lots of other folks, I hope that you'll share their (and my) enthusiasm for these tunes. I'll ask you to "give a listen" and let you make that decision for yourself. Thanks for tuning in! Sincerely, Ron Graffia If you ever wish to make contact please do so as I always appreciate feedback - positive or negative. Here are a couple of email addresses that will put you in touch with me - I am Ron: ron@g4p2.com or g4p2@comcast.net Working on a "New CD" for release in early 2006!
