ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Music for people looking for new audio adventures. All the tunes were played on guitar (a big fat Gibson Jazz box) and put through sound processing equipment that I designed in order to play multiple parts in real time. All the music was played direct to DAT with no overdubs. The sound is so individual that I would be hard put to come up with a style label - give a listen and see what you think. Each composition was written to address a different emotional world: from nail-biting anxiety to serene pre-natal escapism. I love music that makes demands on my imagination and is a stretch to come up with visualizations for. I hope you do too. Enjoy the tunes, they were fun to create.

Unusually Delightful
When one first pops this into your player, you might struggle to actually believe that this is in fact, guitar. As you listen more intently, you can make out subtle hints towards a guitar, and realize just how new, imaginative, and utterly well played this music is. The tunes are unique in tone, excellent in writing, and can really put your perspective of traditional guitar strumming into another realm of consciousness.

After listening to it a couple of times, I even began to notice science fiction type themes, and began to assign the pieces to movies that they would go great with. This is good stuff.

That Which Lies Beyond Guitar Playing
This is possibly the only solo guitar recording you'll ever hear in which the instrument itself is simply a point of departure. The deeply imaginative soundscapes that emerge are reminiscent of the influence of a number of electronic music pioneers. Despite Bucknam's liner note explanations, it's simply impossible to imagine how he was able to produce this fierce beauty.
